Privacy Policy

This is a first draft written as a starting point and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Adapt it to your actual practice.

Your files

The videos and audio you add are processed in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files, conversion results and settings are not sent to Ubahin's servers and are not stored by us. Everything disappears when you close or reload the page.

The Link feature

When you paste a link, your browser contacts that link's source server directly (for example Wikimedia Commons or Internet Archive, or the file owner's site) to read information and fetch the file. That source server may log the request under its own policy. Ubahin does not store the links you paste.

Data we collect

Ubahin has no accounts, forms, tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Your light or dark theme and language choice are kept in your browser's local storage (not on a server) so they are remembered. Our web server may record your IP address and browser type in standard access logs for security and maintenance.

The conversion engine

The first time you start a conversion, your browser downloads the conversion engine (about 7 MB on browsers that support Brotli, up to 32 MB on older ones) from Ubahin's server and keeps it in the browser cache. The engine runs on your device and does not communicate with any server.
